Can Limited Recession Spending Affect the Spring Collection Forecast?

Setting future trends and designing clothes may be considered fortune-telling in a way.  So how can you predict what women would want to wear after six months?

With the breakdown in economy, the forecast of designers have been contradicting with each other more than ever.  The good news is, every style is different and no matter what your taste is, there will definitely be something to look forward to.

So here is a rundown of designs for the spring collection that range from frivolous extravagance to elegant practicality:

Ralph Lauren

Believe it or not, there are harem pants in Ralph Lauren.  The designer used North Africa as its inspiration and produced a beautiful and savvy collection that still delivered the trends.  There were safari jackets and camp shirts without jeopardizing the simplicity and polish that has become the trademark of this fashion house.

Marc Jacobs

The home of Marc Jacobs is still Paris, but he considers America as his first love.  In his ode to Americana, he showcased glam motorcycle jackets and prairie skirts among others.  People say that this could be his most genius collection.

Louis Vuitton

It looks like Marc Jacobs was right when he said that due to the sagging economy, women will be hungrier for a lot of special pieces.  Louis Vuitton definitely caught women’s attention with feather minis, spangled sweaters, and forties shoulder jackets.  Of course, don’t forget the tribal-art jewelry and eye-catching bags.

Lanvin

You will love the voluptuously sexy volumes, gorgeous colors, and the easy construction of clothes that will make the Lanvin collection so easy to wear.

Givenchy

The designer, Riccardo Tisci truly knows his fans.  For this season, the Givenchy collection gave them a lot of drop-dead sexy clothes that they have come to love.  There are bondage detailing and utterly feminine suites.  Included in the must-haves for spring are the nudes such as a tunic-skirt combo combined with a peek-a-boo transparent paneling.

Dries Van Noten

The most artful realist in fashion is believed to be Dries van Noten.  His collection this coming season is mostly white and black, suiting pieces, and a fabulous Lurex skirt colored gold.  This was less energetic then his last effort, but it was never boring.

Dolce & Gabbana

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are vowed experts in the fashion industry.  During the fashion shows, they are the only ones who have made the season’s relaxed pajama dressing.

Chanel

Even in uncertain times, you can believe in Chanel.  The designer, Karl Lagerfeld presented all their house signatures and more.  It also includes tweed and painterly blown-out check.  The result is fashion that’s 100% resistant to the shaky economy.

Balenciaga

The designer, Nicolas Ghesquiere has pushed fashion into the future by a collection made up of shiny and matte textures.  His tissue-fine pleated metallic jackets can be worn with motocross pants.  In fact, it looked like a sci-fi armor for a 21st century robot.

Ann Demeulemeester

This designer has left the comfort zone and created one of her strongest collections.  This one has waistcoats, cool jackets, wrapped and bunched toga dresses, glittery, and crystal embroideries with bold colors.
