What is a good book on ancient mythology and folklore?
I am just getting interested in mythology and folklore from all over the world including, but not limited to, African, Celtic, Chinese, Egyptian, Greek, Japanese, Norse, and Roman mythology and folklore. I would like the book to be as accurate as possible without skipping superstitions, legends, and old world religions. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Oh and obviously I'm not opposed to a long read lol.
I have always used James Frazer's book "The Golden Bough--A study in magic and religion," as a starter book. In its 827 pages you'll find a base that will help you with a lot of other books more narrowly written.
